Unfolding Out, 2020

Textile installation — Acrylic paint, pigment, ink, and glue on soft cotton batting.

What I need is a landscape flaunting of pigment. I need crimson red and ultramarine blue (the Renaissance Lapis Lazuli, the Virgin’s Marie mantle, not the synthetic one)—haemoglobin and the stone (of/from) heaven.
I took some cotton batting, I needed softness, texture, surface, skin, sound, light—all soft—malleable, pliable to lessen the rigid mind—easy to cut, fold, compress, mould.
