Forty Mentions of the Rose is a collection of forty unique pigment prints on aluminium inspired by a single photograph of a rose taken on an afternoon walk in England. The series' core concept is not the process of painting itself, which is explored by juxtaposing scanned painted gestures and pigment marks with photography, but rather the principle of repetition as metalanguage.
