Mixed-media installation: video projection, recorded sound, photographs, paper roll with artist’s fingerprints, nickel-plated fried basket

The project investigates the most common human sign: fingerprints, as a symbol of identification and identity. The common understanding of these symbolic signs along the lines of contemporary scientific publications as well as occult literature, and the union with the ideas of "uniqueness" and "individuality" taken in the narrowest sense, completely disfigures the inner content of these forms and deprives them of their mystical value and meaning, which is located beyond the perception of human senses. (Excerpt from Identity, 2003 — A.
